Troy Township

Troy Township covers 36 squares miles and serves the community of Shorewood
and parts of the communities of Channahon, Crest Hill, Joliet and Rockdale. The first
township in Illinois was formed in 1849 and Troy Township held its first election on April
2, 1850. Local Township Officials are friends and neighbors who live in the community
that they represent. Township meetings are open to all township residents and answers
to your questions are only a phone call away. The Township Officials consist of a
Supervisor, Assessor, Highway Commissioner, Collector and four Trustees.
