Joliet Public Library

Joliet Public Library provides the people of Joliet with materials and programs which contribute to their intellectual growth and broaden their access to the complete universe of information. The Library serves the people of the City of Joliet as the public agency to select, acquire, prepare, organize and account for and maintain a broad, diverse and numerous collection of materials to meet their immediate needs for information, data, concepts, knowledge, techniques, and ideas for use. It serves as a community resource to facilitate and practice the assimilation and interpretation skills necessary to survival and enrichment as thoughtful, current, contributing citizens. The Library serves the people of Joliet as their access point and coordination center for the local, regional, state and national networks and cooperatives that can provide them with specific resources beyond the means and scope of a local public library. The library staff represents the link between the materials of the library and the use of these materials by the people of the community. Patron satisfaction is our goal.
